THE PATTERNS

IMPORTANT : These patterns are based on my previous research on Japanese Garments.  They are not "doll kimonos" patterns but rather patterns to create miniature versions of "real" Japanese Kimonos.

The various pattern sizes have not been created by scaling a base pattern.  Each of these patterns have been drafted based on each doll's specifications.  Please note that although some dolls are of similar heights a true Kimono pattern is based on specific body measurements that varies from doll to doll.  It is highly recommended that you purchase the specific pattern for your specific doll.

THE ON-LINE CLASS

This step-by-step, photo base on-line class will take you through each and every seam, folding, pressing instructions to help you sew a BASIC KIMONO ( fully lined, 100% reversible ), an OUTER KIMONO ( fully lined, non-reversible ), OBI SASHES ( Japanese version / simplified doll version ).  The class will also include some instructions on how to dress your doll, hoe to layer multiple kimonos and how to create various OBI bows.

You will be able to work at your own pace as the on-line class will be permanently available through this website.

NOTE : each pattern also come with some simplified written instructions.
